Shannon Ellis, BSc.OT, ASIP
Shannon is an accomplished professional who graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1995, earning a degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc.OT). With registrations to practice OT in both Canada and the UK, she has gained extensive experience working in esteemed tertiary rehabilitation centers in Vancouver, Victoria, and England. Shannon's primary focus lies in the field of neurology, where she has dedicated her career to assisting clients in their recovery from neurological events such as strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Her expertise extends to cognitive therapy, sensory regulation, and mindfulness, all of which she seamlessly integrates to enhance her clients' functional abilities in their daily activities.
Beyond her occupational therapy background, Shannon possesses a background in design and completed a certificate in Interior Design through the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in 2005. Combining her passion for aesthetics and accessibility, she is the principal and owner of Universal Design Solutions, a practice committed to creating beautiful and sensory-informed spaces for her clients. To further her knowledge and skills, Shannon obtained an Advanced Diploma in Ayres Sensory Integration Practice in 2023. Currently, she is actively pursuing a Masters in Sensory Integration from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, aiming to enhance her expertise in design, occupational therapy, and sensory wellness coaching.
